Initial Comments:
Lets start reading these and if I put out something that requires a response, please, take the time to respond. The first FacMail I sent out that required some responses resulted in a grand total of three replies. I don't want to have to send out a FacMail threatening to kick people in order to elicit a response. Be sure to read the contents of the entire message. I may sometimes slip in something that pertains to a number of you, even if you're not directly involved.
I've started a discussion thread on the forums on how to encourage participation in the faction. It's a great way to communicate with us if you cannot get on IRC consistently. The next thing on my list is that I would like to see some departments organized.
Potential Departments:
• Human Resources (Helping to Train the Next Generation of Players)
• Research & Development (Crafting, Enchanting, Alchemizing and Repairing)
• Public Relations (Be Our Spokesperson!)
• Security (Raiding and Patrolling in defense of The Wrench!)
• Maintenance (Infusing and Warding in defense of The Wrench!)
New Recruiting Policy:
Any character that requests an invite will be freely issued one. However, they must prove their worth within two weeks (and continually after that). What we're looking for is more along the lines of showing up to raids, infusing a set of tiles, searching for needed and valuable components, helping to ward tiles, and so on. Make sure you report to your given group leader (this is coming along soon, so stay tuned for more). Crafting things we have tons of is no longer considered "contributing to the faction" (so no more pistols, daggers, etc.).
Safe Access -- The New Policy:
Starting as of this Faction Mail, we have a brand new safe access policy. To regain safe access, you must register on our forums (conveniently found here) and then make a post in the Internal Affairs section of the board in the Safe Access thread, detailing what you are doing to contribute to this faction.
Additionally, you must send 'Polytonic' a Memo on IRC. Visit the Wiki to learn how to use IRC. In order to send a memo to me, you must do two things. First, you must register your nick using the following command (type it in and hit enter), removing all square brackets (see quoted box). Now, you need to send 'Polytonic' a memo (which is basically just a short text message that I can retrieve later without having to actually converse with you in realtime). The contents can be anything at all, but please, try to include your in-game character name. Type '/join #Ragged' if you need help.
Raiding:
There will be a raid every (Friday Night/Saturday Morning) at 0100 GMT (so there's one this Friday). If you are unsure of what time that is in your native time zone, then this site should help. Finally, I have an interest in splitting our raid teams into one that is more friendly to Europeans at about 2200 GMT, and the second one at our regular 0100 GMT time. If this is particularly interesting to you one way or another, please drop me a note on which one you would attend. We higher ups are interested in running a 'Santa Raid' in which we break down a ward, smite the evil characters and hand out goodies to good and neutral characters. Stay tuned for more on this.
Crafting, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Repairing:
We're running low on Rifle Magazines, so can someone craft some more? If you can repair melee weapons, please work on pristining the magical blades in the safe. We're doing well with potions, but we need to turn our resources towards enchanting. If you can enchant items, please reply and tell me what you can enchant, how many enchants can you do (i.e. can you do the 6th or 10th enchant on a sword?) and whether you can repair the object you are enchanting.
Infusion and Our Territory:
The above is a drawing of our territory in terms of infusions, and where the barricades should go. I'll generally provide a semi-regular rate of infusion map updates every so often. The barricades are in white, and we need those kept in top notch form as well. Warding is also a must inside the barricades.
If you have a question, please start a new thread. This will be used for archival purposes. Thanks.
Also, as of now, everyone has been demoted to "Doughtnut" and must work their way through the safe access system just like everyone else. This is just to be fair. It would not be honest if we picked certain people to have safe access for no reason.
