Pick up the gunsmith tree earlier. As it gives XP for crafting items, why waste that perfectly good XP until you no longer need it? Also, you're already using guns; having the repair/craft tree sooner will be a big help in making ammo and keeping your own weapons in pristine condition.
Fire Resistance isn't really necessary with how common Fire Resistance potions are; save the CP for something else. Heck, pick up Alchemy if you want to; then you can make Fire Resist. potions and others.
Finally, as a member of a Good faction, you might want to pick up Sense Morality as soon as you can. It's only 10 CP and it saves a lot of hassles in battle.
